Mentorship & Internship Programme
Practical experience, professional guidance and supervised development.
BRIDGE is a professional development programme within CRCTC’s Education, Training & Development (ETD) offering. It brings together internship opportunities for people interested in life coaching and mentorship for people in managerial positions.
The programme connects existing knowledge and experience with practical application. Through individually agreed arrangements, participants receive guidance suited to their starting point, development needs and professional goals.
Two pathways within one programme
Internship for aspiring life coaches
The internship pathway supports people interested in life coaching who want to develop their understanding of practice through guided learning, practical experience and supervision.
Depending on the participant’s prior learning and agreed development plan, the focus may include:
-
Understanding the role and responsibilities of a life coach.
-
Developing listening, communication and reflective skills.
-
Connecting coaching principles with practical situations.
-
Building awareness of ethical boundaries and scope of practice.
-
Reflecting on experience and incorporating feedback.
-
Developing confidence and readiness for appropriate responsibilities.
CRCTC’s existing programmes may provide a context for practical learning. Participation and responsibilities are agreed according to the intern’s preparation, demonstrated abilities and supervision needs.
Mentorship for people in managerial positions
The mentorship pathway offers individual professional guidance for managers who want to strengthen how they lead, communicate and respond to workplace responsibilities.
Mentorship begins with the participant’s actual context. Areas for development may include:
-
Understanding personal strengths and leadership habits.
-
Communicating expectations clearly and listening effectively.
-
Navigating challenging conversations and workplace relationships.
-
Developing judgement, accountability and professional boundaries.
-
Reflecting on decisions and learning from experience.
-
Turning development goals into practical workplace actions.
The focus is agreed with each participant, recognising that managers bring different levels of experience, responsibilities and challenges.
Recognising what you already know
BRIDGE takes Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) into account when planning an individual development pathway.
Relevant previous training, work experience and demonstrated skills help establish the participant’s starting point. Where appropriate, recognising this learning can reduce unnecessary repetition and allow a more direct route through the agreed development process.
The pace and scope remain linked to the participant’s development needs and readiness for the responsibilities involved.
How the programme works
An initial discussion explores your interests, experience, prior learning and goals. Together, we agree on a suitable pathway, areas of focus, meeting arrangements and any practical learning or supervision requirements.
The process may include guided discussion, practical activities, reflection on professional situations, feedback and agreed actions between meetings. Progress is reviewed so that the arrangements remain relevant to your development.
BRIDGE draws on CRCTC’s existing programmes where these support practical learning. It supports mentorship and internship development, with each participant following an individually agreed plan.
