Reload Addiction Recovery

Reload Addiction Recovery

Support for substance use, addictive behaviours and harmful coping patterns

Receive. Reload. Release.

What is Reload

Reload offers person-centred recovery support for adults experiencing difficulties with alcohol or other drugs, the misuse of prescribed medication such as sleeping tablets, problem gambling, compulsive sexual behaviours, or self-harm.

Each person’s needs are considered individually. Programme suitability, participation requirements and any need for medical or specialist support are discussed before proceeding.

The name reflects an opportunity to pause, address emotional burdens, and develop practical ways to support recovery. Its three components bring together LovePatch trauma counselling, Matrix recovery support and optional WEAVE Christian life coaching.

What this service offers

Reload combines focused trauma counselling with practical, workbook-based recovery work. Optional Christian life coaching offers a further opportunity for spiritual growth.

The programme provides individual attention within an agreed structure. It creates space to explore past experiences, consider present patterns and practise skills relevant to everyday recovery. Each component serves a distinct purpose, and we discuss progression individually.

Reload is offered in person only, while participants continue living at home.

Who it is for

Reload is intended for people older than 18 who are seeking structured support with substance use, addictive behaviours or harmful coping patterns affecting their lives, responsibilities or relationships.

An initial conversation considers the person’s circumstances and whether the programme and its individual components are appropriate. The same plan is not automatically applied to every concern.

For the relevant substance-use pathway, entry follows detoxification or medical clearance, as applicable, and requires at least 14 consecutive substance-free days. Where prescribed medication is involved, arrangements must be discussed with the prescribing clinician; the programme does not direct clients to stop prescribed medication.

Reload does not provide detoxification, residential rehabilitation or emergency care. Where additional medical or specialist support is needed, appropriate referral will be recommended. Suitability is considered individually, including where self-harm is involved.

Beginning with a family meeting

The process begins with a family meeting to discuss the person’s circumstances, support needs and proposed participation. The family discusses and signs agreements setting out the conditions of participation before the programme proceeds.

This provides an opportunity to clarify expectations, responsibilities and the role of family support. The person receiving support remains central to the work, and family involvement forms part of the agreed arrangements.

Receive through LovePatch Trauma Counselling

The first component focuses on past traumatic experiences and the emotional burdens connected with them. LovePatch provides a respectful space to explore these experiences through the agreed trauma counselling approach, without being told what to think, feel or discover.

  • Eight individual sessions over two weeks.

  • 120 minutes per session.

The work aims to support greater understanding and address distress connected with the experiences being explored. Completing LovePatch does not automatically lead to Matrix. The next step is considered individually, based on the person’s needs, readiness, and agreed recovery plan.

Reload through Matrix Recovery Support

Where agreed as an appropriate next step, Matrix focuses on practical recovery work through a structured workbook.

  • Ten individual sessions over two weeks.

  • 30–60 minutes per session, depending on the work covered and the person’s needs.

Sessions explore triggers, cravings or urges, coping strategies and relapse prevention in relation to the agreed recovery focus. The workbook provides a framework for considering patterns, recognising challenging situations and developing practical responses.

The focus is on applying learning to everyday life while living at home. Sessions offer opportunities to discuss difficulties, review understanding and identify areas needing further attention.

Release through optional WEAVE Christian Life Coaching

WEAVE is entirely optional. If chosen, it begins 14 days after Matrix and consists of one or two Christian life coaching sessions.

WEAVE provides space to explore spiritual growth, biblical identity, relationships and purposeful living. It draws on the movement described in Colossians 3: putting off, putting on and, above all, putting on love.

Its purpose is distinct from trauma counselling and practical recovery work. Participation is a personal choice discussed as part of the individual plan.

A person-centred approach

Reload offers structure while recognising that each person brings a different history, set of needs and support system. The components are not an automatic sequence that everyone must complete.

The work respects the person’s own understanding and participation. Questions and concerns can be raised throughout, and further support or referral may be recommended where appropriate.

What we are working towards

Depending on the individual’s needs, the aims may include:

  • Greater understanding of past experiences and present concerns.

  • Reduced distress connected with experiences explored in counselling.

  • Greater awareness of triggers, cravings or urges.

  • Practical coping and relapse prevention strategies.

  • Clearer understanding of responsibilities and sources of support.

  • More informed choices in everyday recovery.

  • Spiritual reflection and growth, if you choose optional WEAVE coaching.

These are aims rather than guaranteed outcomes. Participation does not promise freedom from cravings, relapse or future difficulties.

Programme arrangements

Reload is delivered in person through individual sessions. LovePatch comprises eight 120-minute sessions over two weeks. Where progression is agreed, Matrix comprises ten sessions of 30–60 minutes over two weeks. Optional WEAVE consists of one or two sessions beginning 14 days after Matrix.

The initial enquiry and family meeting provide opportunities to discuss suitability, scheduling and participation conditions.

Pricing and appointment requests

Current pricing is available in our WhatsApp Catalogue. You can enquire by email, start a WhatsApp chat or place an order through our WhatsApp Catalogue. Suitability and participation arrangements are discussed before the programme begins.
